Staci Waites
Bryan Waites

Staci Waites has over 20 years working within the music education field.  As the Educational Product Manager for Pro-Mark Corporation, she worked for over a decade to develop products to support and grow music programs in various schools. Mrs. Waites began teaching in 2010 and has taught elementary and middle school in Fort Bend ISD and Pearland ISD. Mrs. Waites is currently one of two music teachers at James C. Neill Elementary and serves as a Team Leader. She has served as a TAPP mentor and Cooperative Teacher and is the Campus Teacher of the Year for 2023. She is a two-time Campus Teacher of Year, currently being awarded in 2023.

​Mrs. Waites attended the University of Oklahoma in the School of Music where she performed as a member of the Percussive Ensemble I, the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, the Steel Drum Ensemble, the Wind Ensemble, and the Orchestra. She performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in 1990 and 1995, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in 1991 and recorded several CD projects.

​Mrs. Waites went on to receive her Master’s degree in Percussion Performance from Texas Tech University where she performed with the Percussion Ensemble I, Steel Dum Band, and the University Wind Ensemble. She served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching music education majors as well as the marching band.  Mrs. Waites also performed with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and Roswell Symphony.  ​She also spent her summers touring, competing and teaching drum, and bugle corps such as Black Gold (Tulsa, OK) and the Santa Clara Vanguard (Santa Clara, CA), Blue Knights (Denver, CO), and Southwind (Louisville, KY).

Under her direction, Mrs. Waites’s ensembles actively perform several times throughout the year on campus and around the community in Richmond and Sugar Land. They have performed for the FBISD Administrators, FBISD Convocation, the former Sugar Land Skeeter’s, the current Sugar Land Space Cowboys, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and charity events for the Exchange Club of Sugar Land.

​Mrs. Waites is married to Bryan Waites, the Percussion Specialist at Clements High School, First Colony Middle School and Fort Settlement Middle School. Together, they have a daughter, Emma, who is currently a percussionist at Clements High School and a former member of the JNE Rockin’ Longhorns.

Bryan Waites is a versatile music professional with extensive experience and demonstrated excellence. He is currently the Director of Percussion at Clements High School and its feeder schools within the Fort Bend Independent School District.  Additionally, Mr. Waites serves on the FBISD Fine Arts Council and facilitates training and professional growth for the district’s music educators. 

​Mr. Waites' performing groups have garnered numerous accolades including invitations to perform at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, The WGI World Championships, The National Concert Festival, The Texas State Marching Band Championships, and the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio.  Under his direction the Clements High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble was promoted by WGI from Concert A to Concert World Class within two seasons and was TCGC Concert Open Class State Champion in 2018, 2022, and 2023.

​As a performer Mr. Waites has performed both nationally and abroad with multi-platinum recording artist Clay Walker.  In 2000, he was invited to perform at the World Drum Festival held in conjunction with the World Expo in Hannover, Germany sharing the stage with some of the worlds most acclaimed percussionists.

​In addition to his teaching accolades, Mr. Waites has experience in big box retail as a Sales Manager with the Guitar Center stores.  Having managed thousands of sku's and dealing with the marketing and sales force provided him a unique look into both the retail and the manufacturing side of the music industry..
